Newborn photography in Dublin

Documenting the first few weeks of life, as a welcome gift for your baby

Those precious, unique newborn features aren’t gonna last forever. You know in a few weeks, your tiny baby will look so much different. I know you probably feel like sleep, a shower and a real meal are the only things you need right now, but think of your future self: when all that newborn goodness is gone, you will wish you had captured it all. Don’t miss out on a beautiful, heartfelt documentary of your first steps on this journey. Book your newborn photography session in Dublin.

Relaxed, unposed newborn photos at home

You’re exhausted, I feel you. You might even think you look like a mess. You don’t. This is motherhood, it’s incredible! Can you believe you just made a human being ? I mean, how freaking awsome is that? You’ve made it. Now your life is so different, but I promise it’s gonna be so good. That little bundle of joy is your world now, and you are theirs. That’s worth documenting: the bonds between you, the drowsy smiles when they are milk drunk, the big yawns.

My newborn photography in Dublin is all about documenting this season with honesty and warmth. No posing, no props, just you, your baby, and the quiet connection that fills your home.

A relaxed approach to newborn photography in Dublin

Your baby doesn’t need to “perform”. I’ll gently guide you through a calm, natural session, letting your baby lead the pace.
If they need to feed, nap, or be held, that’s exactly what we photograph.

My sessions focus on bonds rather than perfection. I won’t ask you or your newborn to dress up.
Think skin-to-skin naps, sleepy feeds, first yawns, soft hands holding tiny fingers, and the feeling of being wrapped up together at home.

Each image tells the story of your baby’s first days.

Intimate sessions that won’t exhaust you

You don’t have to do anything, I promise. Just put on anything you got laying around and that’s it! Let go of what you think perfection is. Right now, perfection is that newborn smell. It’s the warmth of your baby’s body when you hold them. It’s the moment they finally fall asleep after you soothe them, and then you gaze at them, and you feel peace.

Newborn sessions are held in your home, at a slow pace, following your baby’s routine. It’s quiet and joyful, like a retreat where only you and your newborn matter. I always take the time to document any detail of your caring routine, and get close ups of the tiny features. You don’t have to clean or put on makeup: you are enough, mama.

Why at-home newborn sessions are so special

There’s something truly magical about photographing your baby where your new life is actually happening.
Your home is already filled with small details that will mean so much later, like the cot by the window, the stack of baby books, the couch where you spend long afternoons.

An in-home newborn session lets you stay comfortable, especially in those first few weeks when getting everyone out the door feels like a marathon.

It’s relaxed, cozy, and timeless, the kind of photos your child will one day look at and say, “That’s what home looked like when I was born.”

The perfect amount of time

My newborn and family photography sessions in Dublin are 1.5 hour. That’s perfect to capture everything important and take all the time we need for your baby to feel comfortable and peaceful. If you newborn cries, is hungry or needs a change, it’s alright. You take care of them, make yourself a cup of tea and slow down.

Life right now can feel like total chaos, I know (I’ve been there, and I remember vividly!). But your session doesn’t have to be: enjoy the moment, connect with your baby, breathe.

Before your session, I’ll help you feel prepared with a few short guides:

We’ll create a relaxed environment so everyone — including you — can just be.

“Aurélie has a unique gift for making families feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Before we knew it, we were so relaxed that we forgot about the camera entirely and just enjoyed a lovely afternoon together.

The photos she delivered are truly amazing. The natural and authentic style of her work perfectly captures the essence of our family and these precious, fleeting moments with our baby. We are so grateful to have these beautiful core memories to look back on as our little one grows so quickly.”

When to book your newborn photography session

The best time for newborn photography in Dublin is within the first two weeks after birth, while your baby is still tiny and mostly sleepy.
But please don’t worry if those days fly by, they always do! A session is always possible after the two weeks time frame, but the more you wait, the more those tiny newborn features change.
My documentary approach works beautifully with older babies too, when you’re a bit more settled and your baby is more alert.

Whenever we do it, what matters most is capturing your real connection as a family.

FAQ — newborn photography in Dublin

When should we book?
Ideally during your second or third trimester, so we can pencil in your due date and adjust if baby arrives early or late.

Can siblings be included?
Absolutely. The more the merrier!

Can extended family be included?
Yes, absolutely, grandparents or close family members are always welcome. These first weeks are often full of visits and shared emotions, and it can be lovely to include them in a few photos.
That said, if several relatives would like to join, it’s best to chat beforehand. Depending on how many people will be there, we might extend the session slightly to make sure everyone has space and time to enjoy it calmly. We’ll keep the focus on you and your little one, it’s your moment.

What if my home isn’t “photo-ready”?
Don’t stress about that. I look for soft light and real life, not perfection. Some of the most beautiful photos come from simple corners of your home. Don’t worry about a little mess or dust, it won’t show on the photos!
