Her session was in the morning, and when I arrived, her little one was just finishing his nap. We took this quiet time to chat and exchange stories of motherhood. My own kids were older then—they slept through the night thank goodness—but I remember those days well! She showed me the lovely albums she printed each year. Displayed on the front door, I saw drawings and photos from her eldest daughter, who was at school that morning. She went to the baby’s room and returned with her little one, all cozy and warm from his sleep. It was time for a feed, and my documentary work began.
