What to expect after your family photo session
So, your family photo session is done! You’ve laughed, played, cuddled, and you had the best timer ever! Now you’re wondering… what happens next? Whether you’re a returning client or this was your very first time… Here’s what to expect after your family photo session with me.
Delivery: a little patience goes a long way
After every session, I take time to carefully review and select the very best images, those that truly reflect your family’s unique connection and tell a story. Each photo is lovingly edited to enhance the light, colors, and emotions while keeping everything natural and timeless. I’ll take care of little things like scratches, bruises or mosquito bites, but I never alter anything that’s a permanent part of who you are, like freckles or scars. I don’t reshape bodies either, because you and your children are perfect just as you are.
Your final gallery will be ready within two weeks, and I’ll send you an email with the link to access it online. This is when you’ll be able to start selecting your favorites! Depending on your chosen collection, you will be able to select a number of digitals to download. You will also receive your print credit, yeah!

How your photos will be delivered
You’ll receive your images in a private online gallery, beautifully laid out for easy viewing, complete with a slideshow. From there, you can download high-resolution files. You can also share the gallery with your loved ones, or mark your favorite images to order prints and albums.
The gallery stays online for a year, so take your time to explore it together as a family.
Keep your memories safe
Once you’ve downloaded your digital images, make sure to back them up in more than one place. Hard drives can fail, and phones get lost or broken, so it’s worth taking a few minutes to keep your photos safe. Save your gallery on your computer, then add a copy to an external hard drive or a cloud service like Google Photos, Dropbox, or iCloud. If you’re the type to forget (like I am!), set a reminder for a yearly back-up — future you will thank you. And of course, printing your favourite images is the best long-term backup there is.
What to do with your photos
Your photos aren’t meant to live on a hard drive, they’re meant to be seen and loved, every day. I’m deeply passionate about printed family photographs, that’s why every one of my collections includes a print credit you can use however you wish.
Your experience with me only feels truly complete when you’re holding those memories in your hands and seeing them come to life on luxury, professional prints to display in your home.
Here are some of my favorite ideas:
- Create an album of your session for your living room or your kids’ bookshelf. Making albums is very easy in your gallery’s shop!
- Order a large frame or a few smaller ones for display above the couch, in the stairs, or that hallway that needs a bit of life
- Gift prints or cute, small albums to grandparents or family members who live far away
- Use a photo from your session for holiday cards, thank-you notes, or birth announcements. Cards are available in the shop!
- Celebrate each kid by hanging their framed photo above their bed
And if the thought of making choices feels overwhelming, I’m here to help. Whether it’s designing an album or selecting the best wall display, you don’t have to do it alone. Not sure which ones to print? Start by picking the ones that make you feel the most — a smile, a laugh, a “this is so us” moment. That’s usually where the magic is.

Share the love
Many of my clients find me through kind words shared by families like yours. As a small business owner, I am so grateful! If you loved your session, it would mean the world to me if you left a review or shared your experience online. In the weeks following your family photoshoot, I will send you a link to make it easier for you.
You’re welcome to post your photos too! Just remember to tag me so I can see and celebrate your moments with you.
And don’t worry: I’ll never post your images without your written permission. Families I’ve worked with over the years know they can trust me.

This is not goodbye
One of the best parts of my job is watching families grow over the years. Whether it’s a birthday, a new baby, or just the changing rhythm of everyday life, I’d love to see you again. There are so many reasons for scheduling a photo session!
